The Packers are finding a lot of success during the 2020 season, but there is still one glaring need on the offense. They need a wide receiver or two.

Devante Adams is one of the best wide receivers in the league, but outside of him there is a lot of inconsistency. Marquez Valdes-Scantling has found success at times this year, but he has been up and down.

The 2021 NFL Draft class isn’t as strong in terms of wide receivers as 2020. There are still plenty of options that would improve the Packers in 2021.

Let’s take a look at five wide receivers the Packers should target in April’s draft.

Rashod Bateman – Minnesota Gophers

Rashod Bateman looks to be a first round draft pick, but if he’s still on the board when the Packers are drafting, this should be their target. Bateman is a 6-foot-2 receiver who is an elite route runner and does a great job of high pointing the ball.

Bateman can play in the slot or outside depending on what would fit better with his next team. The only big knock on Bateman is he doesn’t have the top end speed of some players, but he can make up for that with his route running.

The Packers should be using their first-round pick on a wide receiver, not shopping in the bargain bin. Bringing in Bateman should be option number one for this team.

Rondale Moore – Purdue Boilermakers

Rondale Moore is another wide receiver that would make sense in the first round if he is still available. Moore has dealt with injury issues, which is really the only knock on him.

During the 2018 season, Moore had his best season, catching 114 passes for 1,258 yards and nine touchdowns. Moore has elite speed that would be quite the weapon for Aaron Rodgers and the Packers.

Moore could move around the field and have a special package just to get him touches. Moore isn’t just a gadget player through, he is a strong route runner who can get open down the field. If the Packers get Moore, the offense will open up even more.

Seth Williams – Auburn Tigers

If the Packers decide they don’t want to use their first round pick on a wide receiver, Seth Williams would make a lot of sense in the second or third round.

Williams is a downfield receiver who would be quite the deep threat for Rodgers, but the big knock on him is getting separation.

The lack of separation could limit how big of impact he has with the Packers, but he would be a big-time receiver that makes a big play or two every game.

Tutu Atwell, Louisville Cardinals

Tutu Atwell has climbed up the rankings boards with his play this season, but as long as he doesn’t climb too high, he would be a great slot option for the Packers.

So far during the 2020 season, Atwell has caught 46 passes for 625 yards and seven touchdowns. With his speed, he is someone Rodgers would have a lot of fun with.

The one big knock on Atwell is that he isn’t very strong, but that is something that could be improved on during his first couple of years.

Tarik Black, Texas Longhorns

The Packers really shouldn’t be looking for a wide receiver in the late rounds, unless it will be their second or third wide receiver drafted.

If Green Bay does decide they want to go that direction though, Tarik Black, who is a member of the Texas Longhorns, makes a lot of sense.

Black was one a top recruit of the Michigan Wolverines and has shown flashes of a player with a lot of talent. He just hasn’t been very consistent.

Black would make a lot of sense though as a second wide receiver taken who could end up being a late-round steal in the 2021 NFL Draft.

It’s never too early to look at some of the top prospects eligible for the next NFL draft at each position.
